Amazing Malbec!

Got an Argentinian Malbec and it was fantastic! I'd been wanting to try something new and this hit the spot. The website was easy to navigate and I found exactly what I was looking for quickly. The bottle arrived in perfect condition, super well-protected. I'm already eyeing up some more Syrah and will definitely be ordering again soon. Such a great find!

Good value for a first buy

I was looking for a decent Italian red and found 8wines. They had a good selection of Brunello di Montalcino. I signed up for their newsletter and got 10 Euro off my first order, which made the price point really attractive. Shipping was reasonable and the bottle arrived well-packaged. Felt like a solid deal for a premium wine.

Decent wine, slow shipping

I ordered a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and a bottle of Prosecco. The wines themselves were excellent, no complaints there. Packaging was very secure, which is important for glass bottles. However, delivery took about 8 days to reach New York, which felt a bit slow compared to other online stores. Customer service was responsive when I inquired about the delay, which was good. Overall, a positive experience, but they could speed up their shipping.

how do they compare to Wine.com? Like, selection wise, for rare stuff?

T Troy A. 2 months ago
8wines seems to have more of the really specific European rare vintages that are harder to find on Wine.com, which is more general.

I think 8wines specializes a bit more in those high-end, hard-to-find international bottles compared to Wine.com, which has a broader, maybe less 'collector' focused selection.

Does 8wines take PayPal, or just credit cards?

J Jared 2 months ago
Pretty sure they take PayPal. Most places do these days.

They take all the usual credit cards and I'm fairly certain PayPal too. I paid with a credit card last time but I remember seeing PayPal as an option.

Is 8wines actually legit? Some of these prices seem almost too good for the rare stuff they have.

S Sam 2 months ago
They're totally legit, I've ordered a few times. The bottles I got were perfect, no issues.

Yeah, they're real. I looked them up before my first order, they've won awards and stuff. Never had a fake bottle from them.

I'm thinking about getting a case of Bordeaux. Do they offer a better deal if you buy a full case versus individual bottles?

E Emma L. 2 months ago
Definitely check for case deals. They often have volume discounts, sometimes 10-15% off a full case.

G Greg 2 months ago
Yeah, they almost always have a case discount, or a mixed case discount if you want to try a few different ones.

Are their magnum bottles packed well? I'm worried about breakage during shipping.

E Emma Beaumont 3 months ago
The packaging is really good. Lots of protective stuff. I got a few regular bottles and they were super secure, so I imagine magnums would be too.

Yeah, their packaging is solid. They use special boxes designed for wine, so breakages are pretty rare from what I've seen.
